Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Hareram Tripathi has been honoured with an Honorary D.Litt for his contribution to the field of Indian knowledge tradition & Oriental Studies and his special work in the field of Sanskrit by the Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage, Kolkata.
D.Litt was awarded at the auspicious hands of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ramakrishna Shastri, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the Institute. Along with this honorary title, the Swami Vivekananda Excellence Award was also given to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof Tripathi sir at the hands of Justice Sambuddha Chakraborty. Both these honours were conferred by the Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage, Kolkata at the International Conference Oriental Heritage 2024.
“I am dedicating both these honours to my Respected Gurus and I will continue to be committed to Sanskrit service”, Hon’ble VC Prof Tripathi expressed his feelings after receiving the award.

Prof. Hareram Tripathi is an internationally renowned scholar of Indian philosophy, Shankara Vedanta, Nyayashastra, Sankhyayoga, and Nyayavaishika. Indian knowledge Tradition is his subject of interest and study. His mastery of Nyayshastra and Navanyaya is universally recognized. He has written a collection of books on Sanskrit shastras, serious academician, keen administrator and Philosopher Prof. Hareram Tripathi has previously received several honours including the Maharishi Badarayan President’s Award, Shankar Vedanta Award, Panini Samman and Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan’s Distinguished Service Award from the Government of India for his outstanding contribution to the field of Sanskrit.
