Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has appealed to the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) to withdraw their proposed strike, as the decision on their demands will be taken during the Cabinet meeting on Sunday. The Resident Doctors under the banner of MARD across the state have decried delay on the part of the government in deciding on their demands.
The Resident Doctors of Government Medical College, Nagpur had announced their strike from 5 pm on Thursday.
The demands include repairs and maintenance of their hostels. Making alternative arrangements during the repair work; Periodic review of their stipends and releasing them regularly on a fixed date every month are some of the major demands.
Unfortunately, the resident doctors are required to resort to the strikes due to delays in providing them even the basic facilities.
