Delhi Public School Kamptee Road, Nagpur hosted the Inter-School Math Talk 3.0 on 24th February, 2024 to celebrate the boundless wonders of Mathematics, a discipline that transcends boundaries and permeates every facet of our lives.
A warm welcome was extended to the honourable Chief Guest, Mr. Sanjay Agrawal, Deputy Commissioner at Income Tax Department, Government of India. The visionary educationist, Ms. Tulika Kedia, President and Pro-Vice Chairperson, Delhi Public School Kamptee Road and MIHAN, Nagpur who is the inspiration behind all endeavours was acknowledged for her role as a mentor and patron. The gathering also welcomed, in absentia, Ms. Savita Jaiswal, Director, Delhi Public School Kamptee Road and MIHAN, Nagpur.
This event saw the intersection of creativity and precision, where innovative ideas took shape and mathematical concepts came to life. It was a forum where ideas were shared, knowledge was exchanged, and passions were ignited, all in the pursuit of a deeper understanding of the mathematical world around us. The students of Grades VI to IX and Grade XI presented a 5-minute talk on topics or sub-topics of Math from the NCERT Mathematics textbook of their respective Grade. Some of the concepts that were highlighted were ‘The Amazing World of Mathematical Patterns’, ‘A Perspective Look at Origami’, ‘Why Do I Love Math?’, ‘Geometric Interpretation of Various Identities’ and ‘Contribution of Aryabhata in Mathematics’. The participants were encouraged to explore and stretch the boundaries of their chosen topic to display their originality, accuracy, creativity, and improvisation skills.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Sanjay Agrawal shared his thoughts on the significance of mathematics and its impact on the society. The talented students of Delhi Public School Kamptee Road, Nagpur presented a captivating dance performance, displaying their talent. Judges, Professor PallaviZungare, Priyadarshini College of Engineering, Nagpur and Mr. Prashant Nimje, Department of Mathematics at Shri MathuradasMohata Science College, Nagpur, had a tough time in determining the winners. The Chief Guest, Mr. Sanjay Agrawal along with the Principal, Ms. YogeetaUmalkar took the opportunity of celebrating the achievements of the winners and acknowledged their hard work and dedication during the prize distribution ceremony.
Overall, the power of Mathematics weaved patterns of logic and beauty that captivated young minds and inspired their imagination to further explore the sheer joy of unravelling the mysteries of numbers, shapes and equations.
