In a bid to bolster service reliability, OCW (Orange City Water) with NMC (Nagpur Municipal Corporation) has slated an 18-hour shutdown of the Kanhan Water Treatment Plant. The shutdown is scheduled to commence on February 28, 2024 (Wednesday) from 10:00 AM till February 29, 2024 (Thursday) at 04:00 PM.
The shutdown has been planned for several critical reasons, including the renewal of a 900mm Butterfly Valve on Dry Well No. 1 common Pumping Outlet Pipeline, the replacement of a 600 mm duck-foot bend of Pump No. 2 inside the Intake well, and the installation of an Electromagnetic FM on the Lakadganj-1 ESR 600mm Inlet water pipeline.
The following areas are will experience a disruption in water supply during this period:
Ashi Nagar Zone: Binaki Exist. ESR, Binaki-I ESR, Binaki Prop-II ESR, Uppalwadi NIT ESR, Indora 1 ESR, Indora 2 ESR, Bezonbagh ESR, Gamdoor DT, Jaswant DT- Satranjipura Zone: Shanti Nagar ESR, Wanjri/Vinoba Bhave Nagar ESR, Kalamna NIT, Bastarwadi IA, Bastarwadi IB, Bastarwadi 2- Lakadganj Zone: Bharatwadi ESR, Kalamna ESR, Subhan Nagar ESR, Minimata ESR, Bhandewadi ESR, Lakadganj ESR 1, Lakadganj ESR 2, Babulban ESR, Pardi 1 ESR, Pardi 2 ESR
Furthermore, on Monday, February 26, 2024, residents in the Nehru Nagar Zone, including Nandanvan ESR (Old), Nandanvan prop ESR-1, Nandanvan prop ESR-2 (Rajiv Gandhi), Tajbagh ESR, Kharbi ESR, Sakkardara III ESR, and Wathoda ESR, will also face a temporary interruption in water supply.
During this period, residents in the affected areas are advised that watertanker services will also be temporarily unavailable. The inconvenience is regrettable, and OCW and NMC seek the community’s cooperation and understanding as they strive to enhance the city’s water infrastructure.
