The Women Adventure Network of India (WANI) is set to host the WANI Summit 2024 at Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Hall, Civil Lines on March 3. The summit aims to spotlight the exceptional abilities of women in adventure sports, intending to inspire women across the region. The event scheduled from 10 am to 6 pm, promises a day filled with motivational talks, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities. It will specifically highlight the remarkable accomplishments of women adventurers who have not only conquered physical peaks but have also surmounted significant personal challenges.
Furthermore, the summit will feature the extraordinary journeys of 15 women who have successfully climbed Mount Everest, along with 15 national adventure awardees who have attained notable feats in the realm of adventure sports.
Inspired by Bachendri Pal, Bimla Negi Deoskar initiated WANI in December 2008 in Nagpur, recognizing the necessity for a unified platform to support and promote women’s adventures in India, fostering empowerment and environmental conservation.
Vidarbha is first region to host such luminaries in adventure sports. WANI invites women from all walks of life to join this conclave and explore their passions, dreams, and the potential to achieve higher summits, said a release issued here.

The conclave will also celebrate the remarkable achievement of the Trans-Himalayan. Expedition, a 4977 km journey, completed by women over the age of 50, dubbed Fit@50+. This extraordinary endeavour was inspired by the Prime Minister’s Fit India movement.
Additionally, National Adventure awardees and distinguished achievers from various adventure sports will share their unique experiences during exclusive fireside chat sessions.
Furthermore, the Indian. Mountaineering Foundation, based in New Delhi, has contributed inspiring adventure films that will be showcased throughout the WANI summit 2024.
