The finalists of the Miss World pageant along with the founder of the contest Julia Morley visited the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve in Chandrapur district. The visit coincided with the three-day Tadoba Mahotsav 2024. The Tadoba Mahotsav is being organised with the initiative of Maharashtra Minister for Forests, Cultural Affairs and Fisheries Sudhir Mungatiwar.
Animal Welfare Ambassador Ravina Tandon, Principal Secretary Venugopal Reddi, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Shailesh Tembhurnikar, Director of Wildlife Institute of India Virendra Tiwari and other senior officers were present.
Morley said Tadoba has beautiful tigers. The future of nature will be safe if these tigers are saved. She thanked Mungatiwar for facilitating their trip to Tadoba. Tadoba is a blessing for the region, she added.
Miss India winner of 2015 Navini Deshmukh said that pollution in forests increased because the tigers and other wildlife remained neglected.
