The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has organised a fashion show, dance, and song contest on March 6 as part of the Aai scheme and to commemorate International Women’s Day. The event will take place at MTDC’s Regional Office in the city at 6 pm.
Several other organizations are also planning programs dedicated to celebrating women. One such event is Kanaka Gadkari’s “Mann Kyu Behka” on March 9th at 6:30 pm at the Scientific Society Hall, Laxmi Nagar. This program, designed specifically for women and led by women, will feature a variety of songs performed by Kanaka Gadkari herself, along with her students and co-singers Pranoti Gadre, Devika Bajaj, Swapnali Kamdar, Sarita Gadkari, and Madhuri Deshmukh. The concert, conceptualized by Kanaka, will be hosted by Dr. Datta Harkare, with musical accompaniment provided by Parimal Joshi and his group.
Similarly, Swarved has also organised a Pratibha musical program titled ‘Akhiyo ke Zaroke Se’ under the Swar Pratibha Project, slated for March 6th at 6 pm in the Scientific Hall, Laxmi Nagar. Swarved aims to honor accomplished female singers by presenting the prestigious Swar Pratibha Awards in memory of Pratibha Satfale.
The esteemed singers include Ashwini Luley, Pratiksha Pattalwar, Sharmila Charalwa, Rajlaxmi Barge, Pranoti Bhonde, Padmaja Sinha, Suchitra Katarkar, Seema Sonule, and Manshri Joshi, accompanied by Dhiraj Atrey, Manoj Joshi, and Arun Ozharkar. Ravi Satfale will accompany on the tabla, Pawan Manwatkar on the keyboard, Vinit Kamble on the dholak, Tushar Vighne on the harmonium, and Ashish Supare on the octopad.
Madhura Deshpande will anchor the event. Ujwala Andhare will present one act play titled ‘Maharani Kaiknee’.
