In a decisive operation, the Social Security Branch (SSB) of the City Police conducted a raid on Tuesday at Hotel Oyo Resort Stay Inn located in the Beltarodi area, uncovering a clandestine sex racket and rescuing a woman ensnared into flesh trade by pimps. The crackdown resulted in the arrest of six individuals, including the hotelier and manager implicated in the illicit activities.
The apprehended suspects are identified as follows: hotelier Suraj Gajanan Nikam (36) from Hukdeshwar, Manager Om Kailash Patel (30) hailing from Pipariya, district Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh; Avinash Kumar Laxman Pande (24) from Jharkhand; Rocky Rajendra Agrawal (30) residing in Manish Nagar; Ashish Kumar Nagdeo Yadav (27) from Beltarodi; and Nitin Kumal Rohidas Pande (24) from Jaiprakash Nagar.
Acting on a credible tip-off, SSB officers orchestrated a sting operation, deploying an undercover operative to the hotel premises. Upon successfully negotiating a deal with the accused, the decoy customer handed over Rs 2,000 in exchange for the services offered. Subsequently, upon confirmation of the illicit operation, the undercover operative signaled the awaiting SSB team, prompting a swift raid on the premises.
During the raid, law enforcement authorities confiscated a significant amount of cash, eight cellphones, and a Hyundai Venue SUV (MH-40/CQ-6476), with a collective value estimated at Rs 17.37 lakh. The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act, reflecting the gravity of their alleged offenses.
The raid was executed under the leadership of WPI Lalita Todase, PSI Mahendra Thote, and their dedicated constabulary staff, under the vigilant supervision of senior police officers. This operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to combatting human trafficking and protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation within society.
