Actress Dolly Sohi passed away this morning, March 8, at the age of 48, following a courageous fight against cervical cancer. Tragically, her sister Amandeep Sohi, also an actress, succumbed to jaundice on Thursday, March 7. Dolly had been battling illness for a month.
Mannu Sohi, Dolly’s brother, confirmed the heartbreaking news to the media, expressing the family’s devastation over losing both sisters within a few hours. He also disclosed that Dolly’s funeral will take place in the afternoon.
“Dolly passed away around 4 am this morning. Both Dolly and Amandeep were admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Mumbai. Amandeep passed away yesterday, and now Dolly. We are completely devastated,” Mannu shared.
Her family also issued a statement informing about the actor’s death that read, “Our beloved Dolly has left for her heavenly abode early this morning. We are deeply shocked by the loss. The funeral will take place this afternoon. Further details will be shared.”
Dolly had shared a photo last year after a chemotherapy session. It read, “THANK U EVERYONE FOR SENDING YOUR LOVE AND PRAYERS Life has been a Roller Coaster lately, But if u have the strength to fight with it then ur journey becomes easier. It’s up to u what do u choose to be A Victim Of Journey (CANCER) Or A Survivor Of Journey (sic).”
Dolly has been a part of shows like ‘Jhanak’, ‘Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi’ and ‘Khoob Ladi Mardaani…Jhansi Ki Rani’. She is survived by her teenage daughter.
