The tehsil police have initiated action against individuals accused of trading duplicate products from renowned brands in the Itwari market. The tip-off about the illegal operation was initially provided by Mahendra Saheen Singh (35), a field officer for Puma based in Delhi, responsible for safeguarding the company’s intellectual property rights. Singh relayed this information to the Deputy Commissioner of Police’s Zone 3 office.
Following this, the police conducted a raid at Guru Gobind Singh Trading in Ganjakhet Square, where they confiscated fake brands, including 175 half pants, 140 track pants, 215 T-shirts, 26 jackets, etc., valued at approximately 4.24 lakh. These fake items were being sold on the shop’s third floor. The shop proprietor, identified as Bunty Manshani (41) from Jaripatka, was selling counterfeit products ranging from Rs. 500 to 220. A case has been filed against Manshani.
