त्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते रमन्ते तत्र देवताः This is a famous sloka, which means ‘divinity blossoms where women are honoured’. This becomes all the more important in the backdrop of the fact that Naari-shakti of Maha-Metro, Nagpur handled the highest-footfall station i.e. Sitabuldi Interchange metro station. A majority of the staff deployed there represented Nar Shakti. Sitabuldi Interchange facilitates movement of commuters from one to other line and hence commands highest footfall of all the 37 Metro Stations.
Its location in the commercial area makes it all the more happening place. A strong team of 27 women handled all aspects of the Metro stations that include duties of station manager, train operators, security, ticketing, customer care, housekeeping, etc. at Sitabuldi Interchange station. Sitabuldi Interchange is located centrally vis-à-vis Orange and Aqua lines.
In fact, the effort to post all-female staff at Sitabuldi Interchange Station during the entire revenue hours starting from 5.30 in the morning till 11.00 in the night was being made for some time now. Maha Metro’s efforts thus are in sync with this year’s theme for International Women’s Day – “Invest in women: Accelerate progress”. As part of the International Woman’s Day celebrations, Maha Metro also organized a function at Metro Bhawan to felicitate its female employees for outstanding performance throughout the year.
The Nari Shakti is proud of its continuing fantastic contribution in handling the most strategic location of Maha Metro with a high level of determination and ease. Let’s all honour, respect, and adore all these amazing women who are the ‘Face of Maha-Metro’ on this International Women’s Day.
