FLY91, a regional airline, will commence commercial operations on March 18, offering flights linking Goa with Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Additionally, it will provide services from Bengaluru and Hyderabad to Sindhudurg.
Manoj Chacko, the chief of the Goa-based carrier, stated on Tuesday that the airline intends to commence flights to Lakshadweep from April. The company obtained its air operator permit from the aviation regulator DGCA on March 6.
During a briefing at Mopa airport, Manoj Chacko, the Managing Director and CEO of FLY91, announced that the airline will expand its fleet to six ATR 72-600 planes within six months, up from the current two aircraft. Chacko expressed the airline’s goal to connect various cities across Bharat, stating that initially, they will establish connections between 13 city pairs.
In April, the carrier plans to start flights to Lakshadweep. Over the next five years, FLY91 aims to expand its fleet to about 35 planes, connect 50 cities from 6 bases, according to Chacko. The airline, run by Just Udo Aviation Pvt Ltd, aims to boost air links to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, with Goa as a prime attraction for pilots.
