Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur has consistently highlighted the platforms’ responsibilities to not spread profanity, vulgarity, and abuse in the name of ‘creative expression’.
The Information Technology Act, 2000’s provisions were recently decided upon after collaboration with many Indian government ministries and departments, as well as subject matter specialists with expertise in women’s rights, media and entertainment, and child rights.
Dreams films, Voovi, Yessma, Uncut Adda, Tri Flicks, X Prime, Neon X VIP, Besharams, Hunters, Rabbit, Xtramood, Nuefliks, MoodX, Hot Shots VIP, Fugi, Chikooflix, and Prime Play are the eighteen OTT platforms that have been blacklisted.
