Lady Entrepreneurs’ Wing of Vidarbha Industries Association celebrated International Women’s Day on March 13, 2024 at VIA Auditorium, Nagpur.
Trophies and certificates were given to Entrepreneurs in various categories. The winner in ‘Social Category’ was Jidnyasa Kubde Chawaldhal, President of Atmadeepam Society Nagpur. In ‘Startup Category’ award was won by Tejaswini Bhandarkar, Founder & Director of Teztecch. The ‘Service Category’ was won by Dr Smita Bansode, Centre Head Baby’s Wing Preschool. in ‘Manufacturing Category’ award was won by Sanjali Chawhan, Owner of Cakes & Cream,
The overall winner of ‘The Best Lady Entrepreneur’ title was won by Lulua Katawala, CEO of Tricous. Winners shared their success stories and journey.
Chief Guest of the function, Usha Singh, Director (HR) of MOIL Limited, Nagpur complimented VIA LEW team and congratulated all the awardees. She narrated instances of developed nations like the United States struggling to get abortion rights for women, the problem faced by Afghanistan women due to the Taliban regime, the plight of girls like Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan who was shot in the head because she wanted to study, and that the women in Saudi Arabia Could get a driving license just two years back.
Ms. Singh said we must be grateful for what we have as a country as of now. She said at the same time, when you look at India’s position. Few years back in 2018, one of the most major international magazines had covered a story about the missing Indian women workforce. It said that if India’s women should come into the workforce, we will see a huge multiplication in the business activities, the GDP, the growth, and what is there in the country. The most heartening is that the government has given full focus to this. She stressed that women lack in networking capabilities and we are dealing with such ups and downs and uncertainties and complexities. She appreciated the ladies and said you are like a real role model in the society and providing jobs, generating revenue for exchequers.
Guest of Honour will be Reeth U Sarvvah, Winner of International Glam Icon-2023 emphasized that give some time to balance your life and see the dynamic change in your life. She said self-living is important because we will empower women. We need to teach our kids to respect women and support them. And lastly, she said gratitude is one of the strongest keys to success, with gratitude, you can achieve everything and anything.
Earlier, VIA LEW Chairperson – Rashmi Kulkarni, Rashmi Kulkarni in her welcome address said VIA LEW celebrated the International Women’s Day, a day of significance and reflection on the journey towards gender equality and empowerment. We proudly continue this tradition by acknowledging and celebrating the accomplishments of outstanding women entrepreneurs in categories ranging from manufacturing to service, from social initiatives to startups. She said this year we had received 40 nominations in different categories and out of 40 candidates, 12 candidates were shortlisted and winners were announced in different categories.
On this occasion, Manish Khairkar, a consultant, conducted the presentation on the Lean Manufacturing Process and its importance to MSMEs. He elaborated that Lean manufacturing is a methodology that can help streamline and improve manufacturing processes or other services to provide enhanced benefits for customers while saving time and money through the elimination of waste.

Reeta Lanjewar & Ms Saniya Ramchandani jointly conducted the quiz competition and games and the winners were also given prizes.
