Unseasonal rains lashed the city on Sunday late evening. As usual, many low-lying areas witnessed water-logging thereafter that affected traffic movement at many major junctions across the city.
The skies turned cloudy in the evening. Soon, the city witnessed thunderstorms and lightning as a sequel to Saturday’s devastation as incidents of uprooting of trees were reported from one or two areas. Due to thunderstorms, many localities in the city also witnessed power cuts putting the staff of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited on toes.
Power was not restored in some areas till late evening. The Regional Meteorological Centre, Nagpur, has
issued an ‘Orange Alert’ warning for some parts of Vidarbha including Nagpur on March 19 as well.
