A Godhani-based family held a press conference at the Press Club, Civil Lines Nagpur, claiming that police are unable to locate the ‘unidentified vehicle’ that caused the death of their family member in a road accident.
During the press conference, Vishwajeet Singh, president of Nagpur Action Group, stated that his father, Shiv Bahadur Singh Thakur, a retired BSNL employee, died in a road accident on February 18 near Akashwani Square.
It’s been a month, and cops still can’t find the accused driver.
Singh continued, “They were making random reasons because there was no CCTV evidence available to trace the vehicle that caused the accident. They believe we are after insurance money when, in fact, we are only looking for the cause of our father’s death.”
Further Singh revealed data demonstrating that in the last two months, 73 people have died in over 200 accidents in Nagpur. Except for one or two cases, cops just ignore the accidents. Singh criticised the administration for the lack of planning and implementation that causes accidents and deaths on Nagpur’s streets.
