A recently constructed railway bridge from Satrapur to Sihora, which was meant to simplify travel, is causing trouble for commuters due to water logging. The Kanhan Satrapur new RUB railway underpass bridge, launched by the railway department last October, faced immediate issues with rainwater pooling on its opening day. As per the local media reports, despite citizen requests for quick fixes, the railway department did not address the problem, leading to repeated issues during subsequent rains.
The recent rainfall on Sunday once again resulted in water logging, causing traffic congestion and worsening commuter problems. This contrasts with the opening of a new bridge over the Kanhan River on the Nagpur-Jabalpur National Highway a year ago, aimed at improving traffic flow. Efforts by the railway department to construct railway flyovers and underpasses have been ongoing, including the underpass to Satrapur.
However, the persistent water logging issue requires urgent attention, prompting citizens to call for alternative drainage solutions and proper maintenance of the electrical system in the area.
