Arms license holders in Nagpur district and rural areas are prohibited from carrying firearms during the Lok Sabha election code of conduct period, as directed by district collector Dr. Vipin Itankar.
These restrictions will be effective until June 6. Additionally, in accordance with Section 21 of the Arms Act, 1959, individuals are required to deposit their registered weapons at the nearest police station.
However, this directive does not apply to societies with longstanding rights to bear arms.
Nonetheless, the administration reserves the right to confiscate weapons from individuals involved in violence or disrupting law and order.
