The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, following his questioning and searches at his residence, in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
Following Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest, AAP Minister Atishi said he “is and will remain” the Chief Minister of Delhi.
The AAP has also moved the Supreme Court seeking to quash the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal. “We have moved the Supreme Court and have prayed for an urgent hearing tonight,” said AAP Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj.
The development came hours after the Delhi High Court refused to grant interim relief from any coercive action against him. Kejriwal had filed a petition in court challenging the summons issued to him by the Enforcement Directorate.
The High Court had asked the ED to compile all the evidence against Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor policy case. The evidence was submitted before the court and seen by the judges.
