A large-scale event aimed at promoting voter awareness is expected to take place on April 6 at Kasturchand Park. “The goal is to set a Guinness World Record by having over 7,500 young voters pledge to participate in the largest democracy festival,” stated district collector Dr. Vitin Itankar.
In efforts to engage new voters, Itankar and Zilla Parishad CEO Saumya Sharma met with social media influencers and radio jockeys to strategize campaigns. During the meeting, Itankar noted that rural areas tend to have higher voter turnout compared to urban areas. “We aim for Nagpur to excel in the voting process,” he expressed.
Sharma outlined various initiatives to boost voter engagement and awareness on social media platforms. She also mentioned plans to honor universities and residential communities with significant voter turnout. Additionally, she introduced a ‘Reel Making Competition’ aimed at enhancing youth awareness through social media.
