Congress announced its second list, declaring candidates for four seats from Maharashtra.
Sitting MLA Vikas Thakre will take on Union minister Nitin Gadkari from Nagpur. Sorting out the dispute with Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress announced Rashmi Barve as the candidate from Ramtek (SC) constituency. The ruling alliance is yet to decide its candidate from the seat.
Amid speculations that Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole will contest from Bhandara -Gondiya seat, the party has announced the name of Dr Prashant Padole from the seat.
Dr Namdev Kirsan will be the Congress candidate from Gadchiroli (ST) seat. The ruling alliance is yet to decide its candidate from this seat.
While the party has declared the names on four out of five seats which will go to polls in the first phase of general elections, the Congress is yet to announce its candidate on Chandrapur seat which it had won in 2019.
In its first list, the party announced candidates from seven seats.
