Walkie-talkie sets may be used for communication Amravati District Administration has requested BSNL authorities to provide internet connectivity in the remote areas in Melghat of Amravati district.
In the tribal-dominated region, 52 polling stations are located in the region without connectivity. The Forest Department functions in the region using walkie-talkie sets. The District Administration had submitted a list of 72 polling centres in the region, of which 20 have been connected through the internet by the BSNL.
The polling officers are required to submit the reports on completion of polling. Those posted at these 52 centres will face problems in submitting the reports. The majority of them will have to depend on wireless gadgets. Two runners will be posted at every polling station, as the wireless connectivity will be available at some distance from the centres.
