The scorching summer of the Vidarbha region started showing its heat early this year. Nagpur sizzles at 40.2 degrees on Thursday. Akola and Washim have crossed 42 degrees, while other districts are just touching the 40-degree mark.
The temperature recorded in Nagpur is 1.7 degrees above normal. The summer heat appears to have started a bit early in the region and is expected to rise further during the season. Nagpur Municipal Corporation has already reviewed preparations to meet the cases of sunstroke.
Akola recorded 42.6 degrees, 3.1 degrees above normal. Washim too recorded 42.6 degrees, which is 3.6 degrees above normal. Akola and Washim are the hottest districts in the region.
