A cricket discussion between an elderly Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fan and two Mumbai Indians (MI) supporters turned tragic in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
According to a report, the altercation occurred when the elderly CSK fan asked about Mumbai Indians’ (MI) chances of winning after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal in an IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday (March 27).
The inquiry from the elderly CSK fan seemingly agitated the MI supporters, leading to a violent assault with wooden sticks that inflicted fatal injuries. Sadly, despite being hospitalized, the elderly fan could not overcome the severity of his injuries and passed away.
Kolhapur’s Karveer police have arrested the attackers Balwant Mahadev Jhanjge (age 50) and Sagar Sadashiv Jhanjge (age 35, both residents of Hanmantwadi). Bandopant Bapso Tibile (age 63 years) is his name. He was also a resident of Hanmantwadi, Kolhapur.
On Wednesday (March 27), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered their highest-ever total in Indian Premier League (IPL) history as they posted 277/3 after batting for 20 overs against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
