The National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced a list of colleges initiating new postgraduate courses (PG) and increasing their intake of postgraduate seats for the upcoming academic year. Around 172 colleges will introduce courses like MD in Microbiology, MD/MS in Anatomy, MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MD in Pharmacology, MD in Dermatology Venereology and Leprosy, MD in Anaesthesiology, and others.
Additionally, 37 colleges will increase their PG medical seats in the upcoming year. Interested parties can find the full list on the NMC’s official website.
“It is informed that communications in respect of 209 more online applications (for starting of New PG Medical courses and Increase of seats in PG Medical courses for the Academic Year : 2024-25) have been sent through the email IDs (as mentioned in online applications) to the Medical Institutions/Colleges concerned for information and necessary action by them within the stipulated timeline,” reads the notification on the official website of the institute.
Earlier, the NMC released a list of 154 colleges introducing new postgraduate courses, along with approximately 50 colleges that will expand their postgraduate seat capacity for the upcoming academic year.
NMC stated that communication regarding a total of 1077 online PG Medical course applications (from the sum of 238, 214, 202, 218, and 205) has already been dispatched to the respective medical institutions/colleges via the email IDs provided in the online applications. Communication for the remaining received applications will be sent in due time.
