Public sector banks in the region will remain closed for a total of 11 days in the month of April on account of public holidays. The holiday list includes public holidays, regional holidays, Saturdays and Sundays.
On April 1, the banks remained closed on account of annual closing while on April 7 there will be a holiday on account of Sunday. The festival of Gudi Padwa will be observed on April 9 while Ramzan Id will be on April 11 which will be hol- idays for the banks. Further, April 13 will be the second Saturday and April 14 will be Sunday.
It is important to note that Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti will be celebrated on April 14 but it will be on Sunday. Ram Navami will be on April 17 which will again be a bank holiday. Apart from that, banks will remain closed on April 19 on account of Lok Sabha polling. April 21 will be a Sunday while April 27 will be fourth Saturday when the banks will again remain closed. The last holiday of the month will be on April 28 which will be a Sunday. Interestingly, in some parts of the country, the banks will remain closed for about 14 days.
