Seven people tragically lost their lives in a massive fire that erupted in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, (Aurangabad) Maharashtra. Officials have confirmed that three women, two men, and two children were killed in the blaze.
The fire broke out in a tailoring shop at 4 am, causing panic in the neighborhood. Firefighters arrived swiftly but seven lives were lost before the flames were extinguished.
According to Police Commissioner Manoj Lohiya of Sambhaji Nagar, the fire started in the Alam Tailors shop, located in a building where residents occupied the upper floors. While the fire did not reach these living spaces, it is suspected that the victims may have perished due to smoke inhalation.
“The fire erupted suddenly around 4 am, and authorities were alerted at 4:15 am,” stated Police Commissioner Manoj Lohiya during a press briefing. “Smoke entered the first floor, where residents were residing above the shop, resulting in seven casualties due to suffocation.”
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire, with post-mortem examinations ordered for the victims.
