It has come to light that many parents many parents have submitted false documents in order to secure admissions for their children under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. This deceitful practice has resulted in the cancellation of admissions for ten students.
District education authorities were instructed to provide reports on this issue by April 2nd. As per local media report, Upon investigation, it was revealed that ten students in two urban schools had obtained admissions through fraudulent means.
The Primary Education Department promptly launched a special investigation into RTE admissions following an audit conducted by a voluntary organization two months prior.
Block Education Officers in thirteen talukas were directed to identify and report any instances of fraudulent admissions. Reports from City Group Center Two and Parshivani taluka have already been submitted, revealing ten students fraudulently admitted in the city’s schools.
The education department suspects that similar cases may be prevalent in urban and peri-urban areas. Group Education Officers will be granted an extension to submit their reports. The report from Parshivani taluka has been received and confirms the fraudulent admissions. Many parents are believed to have falsified tenancy agreements, caste certificates, and income proofs to secure admissions in prestigious English-medium schools. Surprisingly, these discrepancies were not detected during the initial verification process conducted by the education department at the time of RTE admissions.
