The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for Vidarbha as heavy rainfall and hail storms are expected to hit the region from April 7 to 12.
The IMD has predicted scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds ranging from 30 to 50 kilometers per hour during the period.

Tamil Nadu in lower tropospheric levels is cited as the main cause of the impending weather phenomenon. Also, a low-level anticyclone over the east central Bay of Bengalisanticipated to strengthen and move northwestwards toward the northwest Bay of Bengal starting April 6 which further influence the weather conditions in the region.
Hailstorm activity is also expected at isolated places over Vidarbha between April 7 and 9. The forecast indicates light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder- storms, lightning, and gusty winds at isolated places on April 7, with gusty winds intensifying to speeds of 40- 50 kilometers per hour, gusting up to 60 kilometers per hour, on April 8 to 10.
On April 11 and 12, light to moderate rain is expected at some places in Vidarbha. Hailstorms are also likely to occur at isolated places during April 7 to 9.
The District Administration advised residents to take necessary precautions, such as staying indoors during thunderstorms, securing loose objects outdoors, and avoiding travel during adverse weather conditions. Farmers are urged to protect their crops from potential damage caused by hailstorms and heavy rainfall.
