According to police sources cited by news agency ANI on Monday, five individuals were arrested following the discovery of condoms, gutka packets, and stones allegedly concealed within samosas served to a prominent automobile company situated in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, Maharashtra.
The report further identified the arrested individuals as Rahim Shaikh, Azhar Shaikh, Mazhar Shaikh, Firoz Shaikh, and Vicky Shaikh.
The individuals implicated in the were two employees from a subcontracting company responsible for providing snacks along with three associates from a separate firm. This latter company had its contract terminated previously due to accusations of snack tampering.
“Out of the five accused, the three partners allegedly orchestrated the placement of the other two workers to tarnish the reputation of the newly contracted firm,” stated the police.
According to authorities, Catalyst Service Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was entrusted with supplying snacks to the automobile company’s canteen. However, Catalyst Service had subcontracted the samosa provision to another entity named Manohar Enterprise.
“During Sunday’s investigation, upon questioning Manohar Enterprises’ staff regarding the incident, it emerged that two employees, identified as Firoz Shaikh and Vicky Shaikh, were allegedly responsible for tampering with the samosas by inserting condoms, gutka, and stones,” added the police.
