Nagpur city known for its scorching summers and monsoon rains is currently experiencing an unforeseen weather event “SumSoon” over the last three days. The mix of summer and monsoon weather has caused strong winds and heavy rain in Nagpur. This has led to power cuts and trees crash in some areas in the city.
Heavy rains persisted in Nagpur and Vidarbha. On Wednesday evening, April 10, strong winds swept through the city, with heavy rainfall beginning around midnight. The winds stayed strong all through the night, which happened to be when preparations for Ramzan Eid were underway for April 11.
As residents prepared for celebrations, they encountered relentless downpours lasting until the morning of April 11, around 10:30 am. The strong winds and rain caused traffic jams and other problems for locals. Fallen trees made things even more difficult for everyone.
Slowly, as the day progressed, the weather began to calm down, and a faint glimmer of sunshine peeked through the clouds in the afternoon. This brief respite from the relentless rain and winds brought a sense of relief to the residents of Nagpur.
