The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today declared the Civil Services 2023 exam results. Candidates who appeared in the personality test can check their results at the official websites – upsconline.nic.in and upsc.gov.in.
This year, Aditya Srivastava and Animesh Pradhan have bagged AIR 1 and 2 respectively, followed by Donuru Ananya Reddy at the third spot.
In the past two years, women have dominated the top positions with Ishita Kishore securing AIR 1 followed by Garima Lohia, Uma Harathi N and Smriti Mishra in the 2022 result. A year before that, Shruti Sharma had secured all India Rank 1 in the UPSC CSE 2021 exam. In 2021 results, too, all the top three positions were secured by women — Ankita Agarwal had secured AIR 2 and Gamini Singla from Chandigarh got rank 3.
The overall pass percentage of females has increased over the past few years. While the pass percentage remained a constant 24 per cent in 2018 and 2019, it saw a slight increase to 29 per cent in 2020, but quickly fell by 3 points to 26 per cent in 2021.
