A replica of the Shriram Mandir of Ayodhya will be the main attraction of the historical Shibhayatra taken out from Shri Poddareshwar Ram Mandir in Nagpur. The Shobhayatra with great enthusiasm after the installation of Ramlalla in Ayodhya’s temple, will have 85 floats. The replica of the temple will be installed on a big chariot and will cover a distance of about 14 Km.
Besides groups of lezim, dhol-tasha, skaters, and folk dancers, about 22,000 volunteers will participate in the procession. The Puja (religious rituals) will be performed at 4 pm in the presence of Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat and other prominent persons.
The route of the procession has been decorated by various organisations. On the eve of the Ram Navami, a firecracker show has been organised at Poddareshwar Ram Mandir premises.
This being a religious programme, the election code of conduct will not affect the celebrations.
WEST NAGPUR: Another attraction of the city is the Shobhayatra taken out from Ram Mandir, Ram Nagar. It moves through the main streets of Ram Nagar, Dharampeth, Shankar Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Bajaj Nagar, Abhyankar Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, and back.
More than 15 processions are taken out in Nagpur in different areas of the city and its suburbs.
