The polling for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections is being held on Friday and in this background candidates will have to end their campaigning on Wednesday at 6 pm. However, there is no ban on door-to-door campaigns but assembly of five or more persons would be prohibited.
The district administration has made it clear that the public meetings after six pm and drawing public would not be allowed. It is compulsory to give election slip to voters in white colour with no name of the party and symbol.
Moreover, there will be no entry of any private vehicle in the 100 metres diameter of a polling booth, except for government vehicles. Moreover, there is a ban on carrying voters to and fro the polling booths by taxi, car, autorickshaw, mini bus, van, scooter, bike or other mode of transport. There is restriction to vehicles going/coming from bus stations, railway stations or hospitals.
A person with a disability or an ailing person could use a vehicle for voting.
