The workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress argued at polling centres in Jaripatka and Nari Road in the North Nagpur Assembly segment. Congress workers objected to BJP workers using their information centres installed to guide the voters on their voter number, polling booth etc.
Congress workers alleged that BJP workers have been using a machine with BJP symbol and the name of the candidate along with the booth and voter number in the list. The machine is used to get information by entering the voting identity card number. This facility is also made available by the Election Commission.
Heated arguments started when Congress workers objected to the method adopted by BJP workers and also encroachment on the centre installed by them. Congress workers broke the machine used by BJKP workers, which escalated the tension.
Jariptaka police were informed about the incident. Further investigation was in progress.
Chandramani Nagar: In Chandramani Nagar several voters found their names missing from the voters’ list. They have been exercising voting rights for the last two decades. The complainants include some senior citizens.
