In the 2024 elections, Nagpur Lok Sabha witnessed a voting turnout of 54.11%, down from 57.57% in 2019, while the Ramtek constituency saw a 61% voter turnout, down from 65.70% in 2019, indicating a notable decline in voter participation.
In Nagpur, there are 2,223,281 registered voters, comprising 1,113,182 males, 1,109,876 females, and 223 others. Out of these, 1,202,962 voters cast their votes, including 627,479 males, 575,451 females, and 32 others. Male voter turnout stood at 56.37%, while female turnout slightly dropped to 51.85%. Additionally, 14.35% of voters from the other category participated in the election.
Among the constituencies in Nagpur, Nagpur East had the highest turnout at 55.76%, followed by North Nagpur at 55.16%, while Nagpur South recorded the lowest turnout at 52.80%.
In the Ramtek constituency, there are 2,049,085 registered voters, consisting of 1,044,891 males, 1,004,142 females, and 52 others. Of these, 1,249,864 voters exercised their franchise, including 666,302 males, 583,556 females, and 6 others.
In the Ramtek constituency, 63.77% of males participated in the voting, while the turnout among women witnessed a slight decline to 58.11%. Additionally, 11.54% of voters from the other category also exercised their voting rights. Among the areas within the Ramtek constituency, Umred recorded the highest voting turnout at 67.16%, followed by Ramtek itself at 66.37%, while Kamthi had the lowest turnout at 58.69%.
The fate of all 26 candidates in Nagpur and 28 candidates in Ramtek was determined as they cast their votes on April 19. The election results are scheduled to be announced on June 4, 2024.
