In response to the increasing challenges posed by crowding issues and to ensure the utmost comfort and safety of passengers, the Central Railway Nagpur Division has implemented a series of proactive measures aimed at enhancing the comfortable travel experience for all commuters.
To alleviate crowding concerns and facilitate smooth boarding for ticket holders, special teams have been deployed across sleeper and general coaches. These teams are dedicated to ensuring that all passengers are able to board safely and comfortably, thus mitigating any potential inconveniences.
Furthermore, recognizing the importance of providing assistance to passengers in need, a dedicated “May I Help You” booth has been established, offering support and guidance to travelers throughout their journey.
To address the increased demand for travel, additional train services have been introduced. Notably, three additional services per week are now available between Nagpur and Pune, providing commuters with more options and flexibility in their travel plans. Additionally, a new train service from Nagpur to Gorakhpur will commence tomorrow, further expanding connectivity and accessibility for passengers.
In an effort to streamline ticketing processes and minimize crowding on platforms, the issuance of Excess Fare Tickets (EFT) for destinations prone to overcrowding has been temporarily suspended. Besides, the Ticket checking activities have been beefed-up to prevent overcrowding in trains.
Nagpur Division has partnered with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Civil Society organizations to provide essential amenities such as drinking water. As part of this initiative, free drinking water distribution services will be initiated for needy passengers traveling in General and Sleeper coaches during the summer rush. Initially covering stations including Betul, Amla, Nagpur, Sevagram, Wardha, Dhamangaon, and Chandrapur, this humanitarian effort aims to provide relief to passengers during their travels.
