Nagpur Book Club (NBC) celebrated World Book Day with fervour and camaraderie, hosting a special annual meeting of its members. The event, a hallmark tradition of NBC, was graciously hosted by its Founder, Dr. Tejinder Singh Rawal, at his residence.
The gathering saw a vibrant participation of over 50 NBC members, reflecting the club’s unwavering dedication to literature and community building. Unlike traditional book reviews, NBC’s World Book Day meets serve as an avenue for book enthusiasts to forge connections and share their literary passions.
Members, both old and new, took centre stage to introduce themselves and engage in lively discussions about their current reads and beloved books. The eclectic mix of genres embraced by NBC members showcased the club’s diverse literary palate. Notably, NBC takes pride in its roster of published authors who enrich the club’s discourse.
A myriad of captivating titles were discussed, including classics such as “1984” and “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” alongside contemporary gems like “Project Hail Mary” and “Atomic Habits.” The breadth of literary exploration mirrored NBC’s commitment to fostering a dynamic reading culture.
From the tender age of 6 to the seasoned wisdom of 75, members of all ages shared their literary treasures, underscoring the inclusive spirit of the club. Special recognition was extended to Arjun Singh, the youngest participant, who received heartfelt appreciation and gifts from Dr. Mittali Sethi, Director of Vanamati.
With nine fulfilling years behind it, Nagpur Book Club eagerly anticipates its milestone 10th Anniversary in 2025, a testament to its enduring legacy and growing influence in the literary landscape.
The evening concluded with the ceremonial cutting of Nagpur Book Club and World Book Day commemorative cakes, followed by a sumptuous spread of refreshments.
