Union Railways and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed on Tuesday about significant progress in the construction of various stations for India’s maiden bullet train project. The minister announced that preparations are in full swing to commence the first train operation on a section by 2026. Speaking in an interview, Minister Vaishnaw expressed confidence in the advancements made along the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route, indicating that the work on bullet trains is progressing exceptionally well.
“The work is going on at two depots. The work is going on at a very fast pace with the complete target of opening its first section in 2026,” stated the Union Minister. Emphasizing the complexity of the Bullet Train project, he highlighted that work started in 2017, with nearly two-and-a-half years dedicated to complete the design phase.
“The complexity of its design arises from the formidable challenge of managing strong vibrations at the high speeds required for the train,” the Union Minister informed.
