In a bid to address the low voter turnout in the Nagpur Lok Sabha Constituency, vigilant citizens have put up a big eye-catching poster at the Children Traffic Park square. On it, they wrote how shocking it is that over 10 lakh people didn’t vote, with a strong message saying “shame on you.”
The poster boldly displays the staggering figure of 10,15,937 voters who abstained from voting. The poster is issued by citizens who actively participated in “Democracy’s Biggest Festival,”.
Despite extensive campaigns by political parties, including initiatives led by Nitin Gadkari urging citizens to vote in large numbers, the voter turnout in Nagpur LS constituency stood at a disappointing 54.3%. Out of the total 22.23 lakh eligible voters, only 12.07 lakh casted their votes.
This poster doesn’t just show numbers; it’s a call for all of us to understand how important it is to vote. It’s there to remind us that every single vote counts and that by not voting, we’re letting down our democracy. So, it’s a wake-up call for everyone to take their voting responsibility seriously and make a difference.
