A young female caretaker physically assaulted a nine-month-old baby. It has also been revealed that she pinched the baby to prevent them from sleeping at night. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of the Gittikhadan police station.
The complainant, who resides within the Gittikhadan police station’s limits, is employed along with her husband. They have a nine-month-old baby. They hired a young woman through a DCC company to take care of the baby. There were two young women hired for the job. Among them, Ankita was responsible for baby care while the other handled household chores. Both women stayed with the family for 24 hours.
On April 25, the woman was at home when she heard her baby crying. She immediately rushed to attend to the baby and was shocked to witness the caretaker assaulting them. When questioned, the caretaker denied the accusation.
The baby displayed marks of assault on their back and legs. Subsequently, the woman contacted the company and reported the incident. The following day, a company representative arrived and removed the caretaker. Upon further inquiry, the other caretaker informed that Ankita, the accused, had been pinching and beating the baby during the day, insisting that the baby sleep at night and not disturb her during the day.
Based on the complaint, the Gittikhadan police registered a case against the accused girl under the Juvenile Justice Act.
