In this first week of May, one side of the road near the Swami Vivekananda statue in Ambazari will be closed for the construction of a new bridge. This decision follows a recent meeting between the deputy commissioner of police (Traffic) and senior officials of Division Two of the Public Works Department (PWD), responsible for the road’s management.
Initially, both lanes were slated for simultaneous closure, but concerns over heightened traffic congestion prompted reconsideration. As an alternative, it was agreed to close one lane at a time, revealed a senior PWD official. The lane from Subhash Nagar Square to Crazy Castle will be the first to close, with traffic diverted accordingly. Once work on this section concludes, attention will shift to the other lane.
