Nagpur police have arrested three individuals wherein they persistently chased a woman from a Sadar hotel to her home late on the night of April 22nd. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone II, Rahul Madne, working alongside with Sadar Police Inspector Manish Thakre, coordinated a successful operation that integrated technical and human surveillance, resulting in the apprehension.
The arrest was facilitated by public CCTV footage, which captured one of the assailants entering the lobby of the woman’s house. This crucial evidence, coupled with other inputs, aided law enforcement in identifying the three accused individuals. The arrested suspects are identified as Manoj Givatram Chhabra (53), Rajeshkumar Amarlal Talreja (43), and Suraj Narayan Kuradkar (25).
The distressing incident unfolded when a group of women dined at Hotel Ashoka in Sadar. Throughout their meal, three men at another table subjected them to inappropriate stares. Upon leaving the hotel, the women were followed to the parking area, where one of them was relentlessly pursued by the accused in an unregistered XUV 700 SUV for approximately four kilometers amidst traffic.
Despite managing to reach her residence, the woman’s ordeal continued as one of the assailants entered the lobby of her house. Prompt action, including alerting her husband and involvement of law enforcement, ensured the culprits were brought to justice. Sadar Police registered a case of molestation based on the woman’s complaint.
