The Nagpur Police have achieved a breakthrough in the case of theft at a smart traffic booth, arresting three suspects. The Crime Branch Unit 3 apprehended the individuals and also recovered goods valued at Rs. 2.5 lakh from them. All three suspects have a history of criminal activities, with six cases registered against them across various police stations in the city.
Smart traffic police booths, equipped with modern facilities including automatic lock systems, are installed at all intersections and squares in Nagpur city. Entry into these booths is restricted to authorized personnel with a unique code. However, thieves managed to break into six booths across the city, making away with goods worth lakhs of rupees.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ashish alias Bondya Chaudhary, Rajesh Kushwaha, and Sheikh Imran Sheikh Akbar. They broke into traffic booths at Alankar Talkies Chowk, Sardar Patel Chowk Ganesh Peth, Kriplani Chowk Dhantoli, Gadi Godown Chowk, and VCA Chowk in a single night, stealing batteries and other valuables. The three suspects have been handed over to the Sadar police for further legal action.
