Nagpur Division of the Central Railways had recently concluded a massive tickets checking drive aimed at curbing ticketless, irregular travel.
The drive, conducted on 07.05.2024 at Nagpur Station, targeted individuals traveling without valid tickets or engaging in irregular travel practices.
During the course of this intensive operation, a total of 926 passengers were apprehended for various violations, including traveling without tickets or engaging in irregular travel practices.
As a result of these detections, fines totalling Rs. 5,42,685/- were realized from the offenders.
Of notable significance, 7 unauthorized vendors/hawkers were apprehended under sections 144/147 of the Indian Railways Act. This proactive approach to maintaining order and safety within the railway premises reflects the unwavering dedication of the Commercial Department and RPF staff.
