Low intensity earthquakes are being recorded in the Nagpur district for the last three days. According to the Geological Survey of India, earthquakes in Nagpur district are very mild.
Nagpur District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar Said that there will be no harm and citizens need not be afraid. Geological Survey of India has been requested to conduct a Micro Earthquake Investigation & Study of the entire Nagpur district due to the record of mild earthquakes in March and May, Iankar Said.
On the portal of National Center for Seismology of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, a total of 9 earthquakes have been recorded in Nagpur district since the month of March and 2 earthquakes in the month of October last year. The intensity of this earthquake is very low 2 to 2.8 Richter scale and the citizens did not feel the shock of the earthquake. No damage was caused by this earthquake.
India is classified into 4 earthquake zones according to earthquake propensity. Seismic Zone (Seismic Zone) is classified as II, III, IV and V and Nagpur district is the zone. Earthquakes are broken into areas. As this zone is the least active zone, it is known as a safe zone compared to other zones in terms of earthquakes.
