Heavy rains and strong winds on Thursday morning in Nagpur caused trees and branches to fall on power grids, disrupting electricity supply to many parts of the city and rural areas. Despite efforts by electricity workers to fix the issues, repairing the electricity system was difficult due to the heavy rain.
The areas affected by the power outage included Vanjari Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Janki Nagar, Bhole Baba Nagar, Vitthal Nagar, Saraswati Nagar, parts of Dharampeth, Gayatri Nagar, South Nagpur, Central Nagpur, and various other parts of the city. Upon learning about the outage, Mahavitaran employees promptly began identifying and repairing faults in the power system.
However, heavy rain in some areas hindered repair efforts, prompting workers to await improved weather conditions. Nevertheless, Mahavitaran managed to restore electricity within minutes in areas where repair work was feasible.
The assistance of the Bhagat fire brigade will be sought to remove trees obstructing the power system. Once the trees are cleared, further work, including the installation of power lines, will commence.
In the meantime, Mahavitaran will endeavor to stabilize power supply by redistributing electricity from unaffected areas.
