Heavy rains struck Nagpur district on Thursday morning. The sky was shrouded in clouds since morning, causing it to darken as if it were night during the day. At the same time, as soon as it was nine o’clock, the rain grew more intense.
It is known that the Meteorological Department had issued an orange alert, expressing the possibility of heavy rain for many districts of Vidarbha including Nagpur. For the last few days, there has been intense heat in the sub-capital, the temperature had crossed 40 degrees. However, today’s rain has brought a break in the heat, which has given great relief to the people.
As soon as the rain started, power went out in many parts of the city, including South West, South, and West Nagpur. In areas like Jaitala, Trimurti Nagar, Pratap Nagar, and their surroundings, power outages occurred as soon as it started raining.
A large amount of rain water accumulated in Indora, Kamal Chowk, Vaishali Nagar Teka Naka and other settlements in North Nagpur. Due to water accumulation on the road in the area, traffic was obstructed in Sadar and sitabuldi.
