Ajni police have filed a negligence case against Dr. Raj Gajbhiye, the GMCH dean, and 10 other doctors regarding the death of a female patient during surgery in 2019. This action was taken following an order from a magisterial court, according to a senior police officer. Kewalram Patole from Hudkeshwar brought his wife Pushpa to GMCH in 2019, where Dr. Gajbhiye, who was then the head of surgery, examined her and recommended surgery.
On July 6, Pushpa underwent surgery. Following the procedure, Dr. Gajbhiye summoned Patole to his office and informed him of Pushpa’s critical condition. She was subsequently transferred to the ICU and was pronounced dead on July 8. Patole was informed that the cause of death was cardiac arrest. Dissatisfied with the explanation, Patole filed a complaint of negligence.
