Students felicitated VC Dr Chaudhari
History repeats itself is the old saying. An example is what happened in Rashtrsant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University this year.
Several years ago some from Hyderabad were rusticated from the University for reciting ‘Vande Mataram’, the national song. The students included former Prime Minister of India P V Narasimha Rao. India was under British rule when stern action was taken against the students.
Nagpur University had admitted those seven students. Those students pursued their education here, one of whom later became the Prime Minister of India.
Now a few students from Manipur approached RTM Nagpur University Vice-Chancellor seeking admission. Vice-Chancellor Subhash Chaudhari admitted the students. Education in Manipur is adversely affected due to wide-scale violent riots in the state bordering Myanmar.
Five boys and four girls from Churachandpur and Kangyokpi were admitted to the departments of Mathematics, English, psychology, and Law. The students were provided facilities food and accommodation in the university hostels. The students completed their education without any problems.
To express gratitude towards the help extended by the RTMNU VC the students felicitated Dr Chaudhari at his office.
Nagpur University completed 100 years of its existence and has a glorious history.
